Visit Profitability Report
What you billed the client against what the outside technician cost you
The Visit Profitability report shows, for every site visit done by an outside technician, what you billed your client next to what the technician cost you, and what you kept. It covers both kinds of outside technician: Tech Marketplace technicians and your Private Network technicians.
Opening the report
Go to Reports in the Accounting section of the menu and click the Visit Profitability tab. The tab only appears if your role has the View Profitability Reports permission. If you don't see it, ask your company admin.
Choosing what to look at
Basis: Done work shows site visits whose work is finished, waiting on your approval, approved or closed. In progress shows site visits a technician has taken but not finished, with both sides estimated from the rates on the visit.
Lane: all outside technicians, Tech Marketplace only, or Private Network only.
Date by: the visit date, or the invoice date. Use the invoice date to match a month you have closed in your books.
Period: pick a ready-made range such as Last Month, This Quarter or Year to date, or set your own From and To dates.
Reading the numbers
Billed: what you invoiced your client for the visit. Draft invoices don't count until they are sent or saved to QuickBooks. A charge on the invoice that isn't tied to one visit is split across the ticket's visits and marked incl. allocated.
Tech Approved: the pay you approved for the technician. For a marketplace visit this is their payout before the platform fee; for a Private Network visit it is what you owe them, travel included.
Tech Paid: what has actually gone out to the technician. For a Private Network visit this is the payments you recorded on the visit.
Tech Cost: the cost the margin uses. It is the larger of approved and paid, because approved pay is owed whether or not you have paid it yet. A cost still owed is marked not paid yet or part paid. When nothing is approved yet, the cost is worked out from the technician's rate and the hours they reported, and marked estimated.
Margin and Margin %: Billed minus Tech Cost, and that as a share of Billed.
A visit marked not invoiced has its technician cost counted but no revenue yet, so the report warns you that the margin is understated until it is billed.
Totals, lanes and months
The boxes at the top total everything in the list. Below them, By lane splits the totals between Tech Marketplace and Private Network, and By month shows each month in your range, by visit date or invoice date to match your Date by choice.
The totals follow the list. Filter the list to one client or one technician and every total, the lane split and the months re-add to match.
Working with the list

Click Export CSV to download the list as a spreadsheet file, with amounts as plain numbers.
What isn't in this report
Site visits done by your own employees aren't here, because their cost is wages, not technician pay. See the Employee Profitability report for those.
