Setting Up & Activating Your Client Marketplace Profile
Complete your client marketplace profile, meet the Client Marketplace Access Requirements, and enable posting jobs to the marketplace. You can hide setup reminders if your company only supplies technicians.
What the client marketplace profile is
Your client marketplace profile is how your company posts service work to the Service Envoy Marketplace and gets matched with available technicians. When you activate it, you can route site visits to the marketplace from your tickets.
This is separate from your technician marketplace profile: the profile that makes you visible as a technician accepting marketplace jobs. Many tenants use both; some use only one. This guide covers the client side only.
Open it from the sidebar: My Client Profile → Marketplace tab (or your tenant owner client record → Marketplace tab).
Step 1: Complete the requirements to be active
Everything lives in one card, Client Marketplace Status. Its title carries an Active or Inactive badge, and the Marketplace tab shows the same badge in the side menu, so you can see your status as soon as you open the profile. The card is always fully open.
Inside it, the Requirements to be active checklist lists everything that must be on file before you can flip the switch. Each item shows Complete (green) or Required (amber); the agreement row shows Signed once you've signed it:
Account contact (required): the person who manages your account. Service Envoy contacts this person about your account, billing questions and escalations. The list holds every contact on your client profile's Contacts tab plus every active employee (from Employees), so office staff such as accounting or a project manager can be chosen without retyping them. If there is only one person in the list, they are used automatically. With more than one, choose who manages the account right in this checklist. They need at least one phone number and an email address. The Edit or add contacts link opens the Contacts tab, and saving there brings you back to the checklist. No address is needed here: your company address comes from your W-9. If your access was already on before this step existed, your primary contact stays in use until you next turn access on.
W-9 on file (required): your company's W-9 for marketplace payouts and 1099 reporting. Fill it out on the W-9 tab.
Marketplace Access Agreement (required): the client marketplace agreement. You'll be prompted to read and sign it when you turn on the switch in the Client Marketplace Status card. You can preview it beforehand from the requirements list.
Step 2: Activate your client marketplace profile
At the bottom of the Client Marketplace Status card, below the checklist, flip the switch on.
If any requirement above is missing, the switch guides you (W-9 missing, agreement not signed, account contact incomplete).
Signing the agreement and enabling access can happen in one step the first time.
When enabled, the status reads Client marketplace access is enabled and you can post marketplace work.
Pausing access: toggle the switch off anytime. Your W-9 and account contact stay on file. Disabling clears your signed agreement so you must accept the current Marketplace Access Agreement again when you re-activate.
Step 3: Post marketplace work
With client marketplace access enabled, create tickets using the unified New Ticket form and assign site visits through the Tech Marketplace staffing lane (see Tickets (Work Orders) and Site Visits in this guide). You can also convert an existing internal site visit to marketplace routing where that option is available.
The same readiness checks that power this page also gate marketplace routing in the app: if something is missing, finish it here first.
Hiding setup reminders (tech-only tenants)
If your company signed up to supply technicians only: not post marketplace jobs: you don't need to finish client marketplace setup. After you open the Marketplace tab or start setup, Service Envoy may show an indigo finish setup banner at the top of the app.
Owners can hide that nag in one click:
From the banner: click Not a marketplace client — hide this.
From the profile tab: on My Client Profile → Marketplace, in the Client Marketplace Status card (while access is still disabled), turn on Hide the finish-setup banner and reminder emails for client marketplace.
Either action:
Stops the in-app reminder banner for your client profile.
Stops reminder emails about unfinished client setup.
Skips the optional Set up your client marketplace profile item on the dashboard onboarding checklist (if it was showing).
You can turn reminders back on anytime from the same switch. Hiding reminders does not enable client marketplace access: it only stops the nudges.
FAQ
Who can be the account contact?
Anyone on your client profile's Contacts tab, or any active employee. An employee needs a phone number and an email on their own record. Someone listed both as a contact and as an employee with the same email appears once.
Why can't I enable client marketplace access?
One of the three requirements isn't complete yet: check the Requirements to be active checklist in the Client Marketplace Status card for what's still amber.
Does disabling access delete my W-9 or agreement?
Your W-9 and account contact stay on file. Disabling clears your signed agreement so you must accept the current Marketplace access agreement again when you reactivate.
We only want to work as technicians: do we have to finish client setup?
No. Use Not a marketplace client — hide this on the indigo banner, or the hide-reminders switch on the Marketplace tab. Technician setup is completely separate (My Tech Profile).
I hid reminders by mistake: how do I get them back?
My Client Profile → Marketplace → Client Marketplace Status card → turn off the hide-reminders switch.
Can every user on my tenant manage this?
Setup reminders and the site-wide dismiss banner are for Owners. Enabling client marketplace access requires a user who can act as a client (not a technician-only account).
