Dashboard Overview
Your daily command center
The Dashboard is your home base in Service Envoy. It gives you a quick overview of your business status and fast access to common tasks.
The top row
Across the top of the page is a row of small cards. They come in two kinds:
Count tiles - Active Tickets, Tickets To Bill and Overdue Open Site Visits show a number and, when clicked, open the matching list page already narrowed to exactly what the tile was counting, so you don't have to rebuild the filter yourself.
Available Work - the first card in the row, after the Time Clock. It shows how many site visits within 100 miles are open for you to request, plus any you've been invited to, leaving out repair types you've hidden with Hide types I don't do. Click it to open the Available Work page. That page uses your own distance setting (25 miles unless you change it), so the card can show a bigger number than the list it opens. The card is always there when you have access to Available Work, even when the count is zero.
Jump cards - every card further down the page gets a small card up here showing its title and count. Clicking one scrolls you straight to that card on the same page rather than sending you somewhere else, so your place and your collapsed cards are kept. A dash instead of a number means the card isn't a countable list (the setup checklist, for example).
If your role has the Time Clock enabled, a Time Clock card sits in this row too, showing whether you're clocked in, since when, and a button to clock in or out.
Cards with nothing in them stay hidden, so the dashboard shows only what needs your attention right now. When a card is empty it simply doesn't appear; it comes back on its own as soon as there is something to show. The one exception is Assigned Work: it always shows, even when nothing is assigned to you, so an empty day reads as an empty day rather than a missing card.
Customize your dashboard
Click Customize Dashboard (top right, beside the welcome message) to set the dashboard up the way you work. For each card you can:
Change its place. Drag a card in the list, or use its up and down arrows. The jump cards at the top and the full cards further down always follow the same order, so the first jump card takes you to the first card on the page. Your first jump card sits near the start of the row, right after the Time Clock and Available Work cards.
Hide it. Turn off Show and the card disappears from your dashboard, jump card and all. It stays in the Customize Dashboard list, so you can turn it back on whenever you want.
Choose how it opens. Set Opens to Expanded to see its rows straight away, or Collapsed to show just its title and count until you open it.

Click Save when you're done. Your choices are yours alone: other people in your company keep their own, and if you work for more than one company each one has its own. They follow you to any computer or phone you sign in on. Reset to default puts back the standard order with every card shown and expanded. While your company is still finishing setup, the Finish Setup checklist stays first and can't be hidden. A card that Service Envoy adds later appears in its standard position, so you won't miss it.
Sorting a card
Every list card on the dashboard can be sorted. Click a column heading, such as Ticket #, Client, Location, Tech or Scheduled, to sort by it. Click the same heading again to reverse the order. The small arrow beside the heading shows which column the card is sorted by and in which direction. Rows with nothing in that column, such as a visit with no tech yet, always go to the bottom.
On a phone, where the headings are hidden, use the Sort button in the card's header instead. The same button works on a computer too.
A heading click sorts the card for now. The next time you open the dashboard, the card goes back to its default. To keep a sort, open the card's Sort button and choose Make this my default sort. Each card remembers its own default, and like your other dashboard choices it follows you to any device and doesn't change anyone else's dashboard. To go back to the standard order, choose Use the system default sort. Site Visits Needing Attention is sorted by Scheduled, oldest first, unless you choose otherwise, so the visit that has waited longest is at the top. Other cards keep their usual order until you sort them.
Dashboard Cards
Your dashboard displays cards showing key information based on your subscription plan:
Active Tickets - Counts of open, unbilled tickets.
Tickets To Bill - Counts of completed tickets ready to bill.
Employees On Clock - Employees currently clocked in via Timesheets.
Assigned Work - Every site visit assigned to you, in one card with four tabs: Today, Tomorrow, Upcoming (anything after tomorrow) and All. Today is selected when the page opens.
Each tab carries its own count, and every count stays visible whichever tab you are on - so a job booked next week is in front of you without switching tabs. A technician can see at a glance that work is waiting further out, not just what is happening today.
Every visit's row offers only the action you can actually take right now:
Check In appears once the visit is due - from midnight on the day of the visit, or two hours before the start, whichever comes first. The "whichever comes first" matters for overnight work: a visit starting at 1:00 AM can be checked into from 11:00 PM the evening before, rather than being locked until midnight.
24 Hour Confirmation appears only inside the 24 hours before the start, on visits that require one. A green Confirmed badge replaces it beside the schedule once the technician confirms. Visits that don't require confirmation show neither.
Pre-Visit Tasks appears when there is work to do ahead of the visit - a parts pickup, for example. The 24-hour confirmation is not counted here; it has its own button.
View otherwise - opens the site visit.
A visit with a fixed start time whose technician hasn't checked in by 15 minutes past the start shows an amber Late badge, and a red No Show badge 60 minutes past the start. A visit with an arrival window is on time anywhere inside the window, so it shows nothing until the window ends, then a red No Show badge. Either way the row gets a red border so it stands out. Times are judged in the site's own time zone.
Site Visits Needing Attention - Everything that has stalled: open or overdue visits not yet checked out, visits waiting on deliverables or a technician's submission, visits where the technician on the job is waiting on your answer to a schedule change, a pay increase, an expense or a swap (Review opens the visit — the Financials tab for pay and expenses), and visits whose date was cleared for a reschedule and never re-booked. Booking a date is dispatch work, so those last ones appear only on owner, admin, project-manager and dispatcher dashboards - a technician's copy of this card leaves them out and shows only the visits they can act on themselves. Today's visits normally live on the Assigned Work card. The exception is a visit whose technician is running Late or is a No Show: it appears here straight away with that badge, rather than waiting until tomorrow.
Visits where an outside technician checked out as Site Not Ready also appear here until the pay for the trip is agreed. Site Not Ready — Agree Pay means it's your move: open the visit and choose Confirm Current Pay or Request Pay Change. Site Not Ready — Awaiting Tech Approval means you've proposed an amount and the technician has to accept it; the technician sees the same visit as Site Not Ready — Accept Pay. Cancelled — Fee Decision appears only on a visit cancelled late, when you still owe a decision on a cancellation fee.
Tickets Without Site Visits - Open tickets that don't have a site visit scheduled yet. Click a row to open the ticket and add one, or click the card's title to see them all in the Tickets list.
Site Visits Not Routed - Site visits that aren't in front of any technician yet: not posted to the Tech Marketplace and not offered to anyone in your Private Network. Each row has a Route button, and clicking a row does the same: both open the site visit on its Routing tab. If the visit still needs funding, it offers Fund Site Visit or Post Without Funding when you route it. Visits already posted appear under Offered Site Visits instead, even if they still need funding. Funding applies to marketplace work only — Private Network visits are paid directly, so they never need it.
Offered Site Visits With No Tech Requests - Site visits offered to technicians who haven't responded yet — on the Tech Marketplace, your Private Network, or both; each row shows which. Use Route more on a row to widen the reach, or Re-ping techs at the top of the card to nudge the marketplace technicians already invited (it never pushes a Private Network visit to the open marketplace). Once a technician does respond, the visit moves to Open Site Visit Requests.
Open Site Visit Requests - Site visits where a technician — Tech Marketplace or Private Network — has asked for an unassigned visit or countered its terms and is waiting on your response. Requests from a technician already on a visit — a schedule change, a pay increase, an expense or a swap — are under Site Visits Needing Attention. A visit with several competing offers appears once, with the number of offers shown beside it. A counter you sent back to the technician isn't counted, because the next move is theirs. When you've sent the price or date to your customer, the row says where they are: Awaiting customer approval, Customer approved or Customer declined. If the customer answered the price and the date differently, you see one chip for each, such as Price approved and Date declined.
Site Visits Needing Approval - Site visits a technician has submitted for your review, on either lane. Nothing moves forward until you approve — on the Tech Marketplace, that includes releasing the technician’s payment. On a Private Network visit, approving starts the clock on paying the technician yourself.
Financials - money still to come in and still to go out. Client Payments Due lists invoices your clients haven't fully paid, by due date (Overdue and All Open); Record Payment takes you to Receive Payments. Tech Payments Due lists Private Network site visits you've approved but not fully paid. Service Envoy doesn't move that money: you pay the technician directly by your payment terms, then record it on the visit. Its tabs are Due Soon, Overdue, All Owed and Recently Paid, and due dates run from the day you approved. Shown to people with the View Payments permission: the Owner, Admins and Accounting unless the Owner changes it.
Network Pay - The technician's side of the same thing: Private Network work you've done for another company, paid by them directly on their terms. Tabs: Expected (accepted, not yet approved), Owed, Overdue and Paid, each with its due date and the amount after any payment fee.
Recent Outside Work - The last five site visits you staffed outside your own employees, on the Tech Marketplace or your Private Network, newest first, whichever customer they belong to. Each row shows its status, and Private Network rows are labelled as such. Click a row to open the visit and see where it got to.
DCP Updates - For accounts subscribed to a Direct Client Package: the latest updates and training published by the package owner, with a count of what you haven't read yet.
Open Timesheets - Employees who forgot to clock out.
Overtime Alerts - Employees approaching or over their overtime threshold for the current week, with the week's dates shown on the card. Click a row to open that employee's payroll report.
Working from a card
Two shortcuts sit on every card that lists work, so you rarely have to retype or go hunting.
Copy a ticket number. There's a small copy button next to every ticket number on the dashboard. Click it and the bare number is on your clipboard, ready to paste into an email, a text to your technician, or your customer's portal. It copies just the number — no "#" — and the button shows a check mark for a moment so you know it took. This is most useful to technicians on marketplace work, who can't open the client's ticket but still need to quote its number on the phone.
Open a card as a full list. Click a card's title and the Site Visits page opens showing exactly the visits that card was listing — not a rough match, the same visits. A banner at the top names the card it came from and how many visits it's showing. From there you get everything the full list offers: sorting, the per-column filters, search, and Export to CSV, all working on just that set of visits.
Your place is kept. Once you're on that narrowed list you can filter and sort it further, open a site visit, and click Back — you land back on the same narrowed, filtered, sorted list, on the same page of results. The browser's own Back button does the same. When you're done, Show all site visits in the banner widens the list back out to everything.
The narrowing lives in the browser tab you started in. If you copy that link into a new tab or come back tomorrow, the page tells you the selection is no longer available and shows all site visits rather than quietly showing you the wrong ones — click the card title again for a fresh list.
Collapsing a card
Every card that lists rows has a small chevron at the right of its title. Click it to fold the rows away; the card's title, icon and count stay visible, so "Open Timesheets · 14" still reads at a glance. You've hidden the fourteen rows, not the fourteen. Click again to expand. Folding a card this way lasts until you leave or reload the dashboard, so a card you close by accident is never gone for good. To have a card always open collapsed, set it in Customize Dashboard.
Complete Your Setup
While your company is still finishing setup, a Complete Your Setup card sits at the top of the dashboard (its jump card reads Finish Setup). It shows how many steps you've done and walks you through initial configuration:
Create Your First Client
Add An Additional Employee (optional)
Add a Vehicle (for mileage tracking) or link to disable mileage tracking requirement
Set Notification Email
Select Your Pay Period Frequency and Set Your Last Pay Period End Date (optional, for payroll)
Activate Your Technician Marketplace Profile (optional)
Activate Your Client Marketplace Profile (optional)
Refer & Earn (optional)
Click a step to go straight to where it's done, or Continue Setup to open the full setup page. Complete each step to unlock the full potential of Service Envoy. The checklist items are tailored to your subscription plan. Optional steps can be skipped from the card and revisited later from the onboarding page.
